Development status — August 2026

Cinderfall is currently playable in a private development build. Most of its content and features are already in place. The remaining campaign maps are being completed ahead of the Android public alpha planned for fall 2026.

That alpha is intended to include the game’s full scope. Its main purpose will be to gather player feedback, resolve issues and refine balance before the full mobile launch planned for late 2026.

A complete RTS experience

Every match is a race to grow stronger. Develop your economy, construct the buildings that support your strategy, expand your territory and prepare an army that can answer your opponent’s choices.

Cinderfall constantly moves between macro and micro management. You can command every unit precisely, automate selected active abilities or take manual control at the decisive moment. Battles unfold across multiple fronts and can grow beyond 100 units versus 100.

More than 160 units and buildings to configure

Your army is not a fixed faction preset. Before a match, you choose the units, buildings and abilities that define your strategy.

Runes let you adjust the individual stats of each unit and building. An offensive unit can become tougher, an economic building can support nearby production, and a single structure can open several military paths. Almost every unit also has its own passive and active abilities.

Asymmetric factions

In Cinderfall, three factions are currently available, with two others in development. Each faction has its own strengths, units, and technologies, offering a wide variety of possible strategies.

Orcs

An offensive faction that rewards constant pressure. Eliminations fill the Rage Meter, strengthening the whole army, accelerating production and improving Totems. War Trophies are used to place those Totems and create permanent areas of influence.

Humans

A balanced and coordinated army with strong cavalry, defensive troops, artillery and elemental magic. Humans appoint an Officer whose aura supports nearby units according to the selected Directive. The Officer also generates Faith, which powers temporary enhancements and coordinated attacks.

Ashfiends

A demonic faction already present in battle under CPU control. Ashfiends harvest souls released near their forces and generate Ash, a resource used to summon creatures, drain mana, recall fallen units or create temporary passages. Playability is planned as a possibility for a future update.

Nature

Nature units are not tied to one faction and can supplement the armies of different peoples.

Ancients (coming soon)

The Ancients, founders of Nareth-Kor and guardians of the world’s primal forces, are planned for a future stage of development.

Each faction allows for deep customization of your armies. You can adapt your units based on the technology and equipment you choose to integrate into your strategies.

Four core game modes

Campaign

Forty story missions—twenty for Humans and twenty for Orcs—tell two sides of the conflict. Each mission introduces new units, buildings and objectives. Completion-time leaderboards also reward optimization and speedrunning.

Survival

Defend your base against increasingly dangerous waves. Keep your economy running under pressure, limit your losses and protect your score multiplier as you push toward higher waves.

Quick Match

Launch a classic RTS battle alone or against several CPU-controlled armies. Depending on the map, a match can include up to ten participants: one human player and nine CPU armies.

Procedural Match

Generate a battlefield from your own settings: biome, participant count, terrain layout, bodies of water, expansions and choke points. Every configuration creates a new strategic situation.

The world of Cinderfall

One hundred and fifty years ago, a forbidden ritual destroyed the sanctuary of Nareth-Kor and shattered the world’s balance. The Great Cataclysm began: endless ash darkened the sky, destabilized magic and forced every people to survive in a broken world.

Now new earthquakes shake the land and the ashfall grows heavier. Gorthak the Ashen, shaman of the Orc clans, hears a call within the storms drawing him back to Nareth-Kor. King Eldaran instead seeks to contain whatever is awakening there. When the sanctuary’s breach opens, the Cinderfiends emerge from another world and reveal that the ash itself is bound to their magic.

The ashfall is slowing, but the threat has only begun.
