Cinderfall — roadmap
The road to public alpha and beyond
Cinderfall is an evolving project. This roadmap outlines the planned next steps for platforms, content and gameplay systems.
The periods below reflect the schedule as of August 2026. They may change in response to development, testing and player feedback.
Current status — August 2026
Cinderfall is playable in a private development build. Most features and content are already in place, including the playable factions, customization systems, core modes, multi-front battles and the majority of the campaign.
Current work is focused on areas including:
- completing the final campaign maps;
- resolving identified issues;
- balancing units, buildings, runes and abilities;
- visual improvements and greater overall consistency;
- ongoing optimization of the mobile experience.
Fall 2026 — Android public alpha
The public alpha is intended to open Cinderfall to Android players with the game’s full scope, including:
- playable Humans and Orcs;
- Cinderfiends as CPU-controlled opponents;
- more than 160 units and buildings;
- the complete 40-mission campaign;
- Survival, Quick Match and Procedural Match modes;
- runes, the technology tree and faction ability systems.
This phase will primarily gather feedback, identify issues across a wider range of devices and playstyles, and refine balance.
Late 2026 — full mobile launch
The full mobile launch is planned for Android and iOS. Priorities between the alpha and this release will include:
- stability and performance;
- usability and readability across different screen sizes;
- overall balance;
- integration of community feedback;
- visual quality and consistency.
The mobile version will be free to play with optional in-app purchases that speed up unlocks. Every unit, building and gameplay feature will be obtainable for free through play. The game will contain no advertising.
Early 2027 — Cinderfall on PC
A PC version is planned for Steam in early 2027. It will extend Cinderfall’s strategy experience to desktop, with an interface and controls adapted to the platform.
The Steam page, system requirements and precise release date will be announced later.
Content and systems in ongoing development
After launch, Cinderfall is intended to keep growing with:
- additional units and buildings;
- new faction abilities and spells;
- a new system for changing unit weapons;
- more playable maps;
- achievements and secondary progression;
- further visual and interface improvements.
Future factions
Ashfiends
The Ashfiends already appear in battle under CPU control. Their roster, buildings and strategic variations will continue to grow. Player access may be introduced in a future update once their content and balance provide an experience comparable to Humans and Orcs.
Ancients
The Ancients are the founding people of Nareth-Kor, tied to nature and the world’s primal balance. The faction is planned for a future development stage; its playable content and schedule have not yet been announced.
Planned modes
Several experiences are being considered to expand the game:
- Tower Defense & RTS, combining strategic defense with base development;
- Challenges, built around specific objectives and unique conditions;
- Zone Control, focused on attacking and defending key positions;
- online multiplayer, enabling battles between players;
- offline multiplayer, against a CPU army using another player’s units, runes and configured build order.
These modes are part of the planned direction, but their development order and release dates have not been set.
Follow development
Milestones, dates and priorities will be refined as development continues. The official Discord is the best place to follow public-alpha announcements and share feedback.
