Optional Starter package
English | Français
Install SorolifRTSMapGenerator-Core.unitypackage first. Core contains the generator, Editor tools, shaders, manuals and the complete shared Art folder: models, textures, materials, prefabs and reference settings for Forest, Tropical, Snow and Autumn.
The optional SorolifRTSMapGenerator-Starter.unitypackage installs Examples under Assets/SorolifMapGenerationStarter. Import it through Assets > Import Package > Custom Package, or Tools > Sorolif > Map Generation > Import Starter Package.
It contains:
- Four independent, prefilled
Starter...Biome settings under Examples/QuickStart, initialized from the Core reference settings and linked to Core/Art.
- Two scenes demonstrating procedural and color-coded image generation, the example input image and an editable image palette.
- Eight packed RTS map prefabs for 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and FFA, each with a portable recipe using the editable Starter biome.
- Runtime sample code and the small demonstration-specific assets used by the scenes.
What you can customize
Change probabilities, prop rules, biome options and assigned references on a Starter setting. These are separate assets with separate GUIDs; changes do not modify the reference settings in Core/Art. The biome selector prefers an available Starter default, while retaining a compatible explicit custom choice.
Models, textures, materials and model prefabs remain shared references to Core/Art. Changing a field that selects one of them is local to your setting. To change a material's own values, duplicate it into your project and assign the copy. To edit a model prefab's hierarchy, create a project-owned prefab variant. Editing a shared source directly edits Core content and that content can be replaced by a Core update. No visual meshes or textures are duplicated automatically.
Create Starter Biome Assets can create the four independent settings from Core without importing the example archive. Existing settings, including intentionally empty fields and modified rules, are preserved. It does not recreate models, materials, textures or project layers.
Scenes, updates and export
Opening a supplied demo from Welcome & Setup creates a scene copy under SceneCopies. Select Starter Folder locates the editable content. The supplied map prefabs and recipes reference Starter settings.
Core updates contain no Starter settings or examples and do not overwrite that folder. Shared Core artwork can receive updates. Explicitly reimporting Starter can overwrite selected Starter assets; keep project edits in version control. Starter depends on Core scripts, shaders and Art.
In the publisher workspace, Art and Examples remain in the versioned module. Only copies of Examples move into the Starter root in an isolated export project, preserving their GUIDs. The author's live generated scenes are not distribution sources. No Resources folder is shipped.
The release targets Unity 6000.2 or later, Editor-matched URP, Windows, Android and iOS. See compatibility for recorded checks and mobile validation status.
