Cinderfall has reached an important milestone: most of its content and features are now integrated into a private, playable development build.
The project is entering a phase focused on completing the remaining maps, resolving issues, refining balance and preparing for the Android public alpha planned for fall 2026.
Where is the game today?
Cinderfall’s main gameplay loop is in place. Players can build and expand a base, gather resources, assemble a customized army and command battles across land, sea and air.
Humans and Orcs are playable with their own dedicated systems. The Cinderfiends already have units, buildings and faction mechanics, but are currently controlled by the CPU. Campaign, Survival, Quick Match and Procedural Match modes are integrated.
Most of the forty campaign missions are also available. The remaining maps will be completed for the public alpha so this first public phase can offer the game’s full scope.
Customization at the heart of Cinderfall
Cinderfall now includes more than 160 units and buildings. Players choose the elements that make up their army, shape their technology tree and adjust each unit or building through runes.
Almost every unit has passive and active abilities. These abilities can be automated to simplify the control of large armies or triggered manually when the situation demands precise tactical timing.
Faction mechanics add another layer of customization: Directives and Faith for Humans, Rage and Totems for Orcs, and souls and Ash for the CPU-controlled Cinderfiends.
Four modes, four kinds of strategy
The Campaign tells the conflict from the Human and Orc perspectives through twenty missions for each faction. Every map presents a different situation and includes a completion-time leaderboard for players who want to optimize their run.
Survival challenges players with increasingly powerful waves and a dynamic score system. Quick Match offers classic RTS battles against the CPU, with up to ten participants on selected maps. Procedural Match creates fresh battlefields from settings such as biome, layout, bodies of water, expansions and choke points.
Priorities before the alpha
Work over the coming weeks is focused on four areas:
- completing the final campaign missions;
- resolving issues identified during internal testing;
- continuing to balance units, buildings, runes and abilities;
- optimizing the interface, readability and performance on mobile.
The public alpha will bring the game to more devices and a wider range of playstyles. Community feedback will then help refine the experience before the full mobile launch.
Planned schedule
- Fall 2026: Android public alpha;
- Late 2026: full mobile launch on Android and iOS;
- Early 2027: planned PC launch via Steam.
This schedule remains provisional and may change depending on test results and development needs.
What comes next?
The roadmap includes new units, buildings and faction spells, more maps, a weapon-changing system, achievements and secondary progression.
The Cinderfiends will also continue to grow before any potential player access. The Ancients, founders of Nareth-Kor, are planned for a future stage of the game. Other modes are being considered, including Tower Defense & RTS, Challenges, Zone Control and multiplayer.
